Nebraska Water Users Inc. (NWU), a non-profit volunteer organization was formed after the federal
government took all the stored water away from the NPPD irrigators in February of 1990. Being a non-profit civic league, NWU has worked to balance the needs of all water users within the state.
Recognized as an informed source since 1990, NWU has been involved with all governors and representatives of
Nebraska and many national leaders in trying to resolve conflict whenever it arises. Our members have traveled from coast to coast and border to border, learning, evaluating and negotiating water
concerns.
NWU has made a concerted effort to educate water users and the general public whenever possible. The "Farmers
Guide to Water Rights" has been a favorite as well as the "Working River Model" depicting the water cycle of a river.
Thank you for your interest in Nebraska Water Users Inc. We invite you to become a member.
